Hannah Back

Hannah is driven by a passion for spatial justice, exploring it through diverse lenses and perspectives. She completed her Architecture BA at the University of Cambridge, where her thesis took a feminist approach to analyse a "failed" social housing estate in London, revealing how design can impact social equity.

Throughout her academic journey, Hannah has honed her ability to convey complex ideas clearly and compellingly through written and visual communications. She thrives on conceptual analysis and has developed a keen understanding of the built environment's potential to drive sustainable change. Before pursuing a Masters in Strategic Design and Entrepreneurship at KADK and CBS, Hannah worked at architecture firms in the UK deepening her practical knowledge of design and innovation.

At Smith Innovation, Hannah is responsible for external communications for the Circular Buildings Coalition where the firm serves as Program Manager. Her work involves spreading the mission of circular economy practices across multiple platforms while fostering engagement and growing the coalition’s influence.
