INDICATE – the national building LCA data accelerator
This is why we are happy to share some big news:
The INDICATE initiative has launched.
INDICATE aims to boost the availability of quality building climate data, a critical step towards fully decarbonizing the heavily emitting sector, which is responsible for almost 40% of global carbon emissions. Czechia, Ireland and Spain are the first countries taking part in the initiative, to drive and accelerate policy development across Europe.
INDICATE is an accelerator offering a project framework and co-funding to support efforts to generate much-needed building-level whole life carbon data in Europe. This data must be generated now if industry and policy action on decarbonising buildings are to be brought in line with the 1,5 °C target from the 2015 Paris COP21 agreement.
At Smith Innovation we are excited about operating the initiative together withBPIE, KU Leuven and World GBC who are offering technical and political support and Laudes Foundation as funding partner.
