Konsulent

Emilie-Sofie Hillmann

Emilie is passionate about how global challenges can be tackled in practice and how spaces for change can be created at a local level. She is motivated by the role and agency of actors in the transformation of culture, technology, design, and markets, identifying herself as a bridge-builder between interdisciplinary fields.

Through strategic design methods, Emilie helps translate complex problems and ideas into action-oriented initiatives that drive change, investment, organization, and scaling.

Emilie holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Design & Entrepreneurship from Copenhagen Business School in collaboration with The Royal Danish Academy. Here, she specialized in bio-based innovation management in construction and the organization of systemic change towards an industry that operates within planetary boundaries.

Her previous consultancy work has equipped her with skills in business development, consolidation, and the organization of radical innovations that challenge conventional market conditions. Emilie is driven by change-making visionaries, transformation theory, change management, and systems theory, which is why she is also the host and producer of the podcast series Unfolding Strategic Design.

Sensitive innovation management combined with strategic design is one of our strongest assets—both for predicting the future and paving the way forward.

At Smith, Emilie will assist with the project Roads to Biobased Construction. On this project, she contributes to establishing local value chains for biobased materials, business development, communication, and connecting potentials and actors across the value chain.
